March Sunday School Schedule

See our March schedule of Sunday School activities on the Our Faith and Christian Education page.
The Youth of St. Andrew's will be putting together Easter Baskets and Cards for the children at Restoration House during class on the 14th and the 21st. Donations of candy and small items for the baskets will be welcome. We can start collecting things as soon as possible.
On the 21st, they will be making Stone Soup for the needy. While
preparations take place during class, they'll be putting it together plus making bread after church. Friends are welcome.
For a more detailed list of upcoming activities, click here and scroll down to March 2010 Sunday School Lessons.
Tuesday Lenten Bible Study
Our special Tuesday evening Lenten Bible Study series continues. It starts at 6:30 pm and last until 8:00 pm. We start with a light Lenten meal of soup and salad, then view a DVD and converse about what we've seen and heard.
All are welcome to join our group for both meaningful and enjoyable discussions during the season of Lent.
There are Lenten Devotional Booklets at the back of the church and on the bench in the hallway. Also available are prayer cards and Hope Chest coin boxes to support and pray for Episcopal Relief and Development.
Troxell Street Fundraiser

It is time to begin thinking about the upcoming annual Troxell Street event (which is held in May).
This is our biggest fundraiser of the year, so we need everyone's support. Please join us! Do you have any ideas for booths or other venues? Want to volunteer to help run a booth? Suggestions? Please contact Cindy Shipman.

Our Homeless Shelter Needs Your Help

Every Friday night during the winter months, St. Andrew's opens the church hall to the homeless of Bethlehem.
During the week of Christmas, many individuals from the community volunteer to assist - but on the other Friday nights before and after Christmas - not many do so.
While we always appreciate volunteers - your help is especially needed in February and March.
Please consider staying overnight with our shelter organizers & guests, serving or preparing a meal (a light supper or breakfast) or washing and drying sleeping bags or blankets.
If you are only able to offer a few hours on a Saturday morning, why not be a part of our Saturday morning clean-up crew? We need helpers who will disinfect all tables and serving surfaces, run the dishwasher, and do various other duties once our overnight guests leave.
For those who have never been to St. Andrew's, please click here (or on the "Directions" tab to the left of the screen) for a map and further details.
If you are interested in volunteering, please use the contact form on this website or leave a message at the church: 610-865-3603.
We'd greatly appreciate your help. Thank you!
PAIFP - - Now Officially a 501(c)(3) Exempt Organization!

PA AVE. Interfaith Food Pantry -
Serving Our Community
Hours of Operation:
Open the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month from 6 PM until 8 PM - except for church holidays.
Thanks to the hard work of its members, the Food Pantry officially opened on September 16th, 2009.
We're pleased to announce that our Food Pantry has officially been designated a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization and that financial donations can go directly to the Pennsylvania Avenue Interfaith Food Pantry, rather than through the church.
- We need food shopping volunteers to purchase essential groceries at Aldi or other local discount markets on a semi-regular basis.
- Donations of mac & cheese, soups, cold cereals, and boxed potato products would be extremely welcome!
- Daytime volunteers are needed to help unload deliveries from Second Harvest and to stock shelves.
See the Pennsylvania Avenue Interfaith Food Pantry page for updates, an application form for volunteers, plus information on what sort of food products are still needed.
If you are a member of another faith, please ask the members of your religious group to donate the products listed above. We can make this Lenten and Passover Season a little better for the people who use our pantry by providing these items.
If you have questions, would like to help, or represent an organization interested in participating in PAIFP, please contact : Craig Updegrove at cupde1@rcn.com or call 484-892-1589.

Join Our Choir!
St. Andrew's Music Ministry is Now Hiring.
Contribute your time and talent to our choir. You do not have to read music or have previous experience.
We practice on Thursday evenings from 7 PM until 8:30 PM and sing during the second service on Sundays (10:30 AM). Contact our Music Director, Evelyn Michaels at Harmony895@gmail.com.

Needed: New Green Chausable
St. Andrew's is in serious need of a new green chausable and related vestments for our Priest. The current one has exceeded its lifespan despite numerous repairs.
This will also involve purchasing another altar cloth. Unfortunately, the price tag for all these items could run up to $2,000.00.
We're hoping that members of St. Andrew's or the families of former members will see this as an opportunity and will donate towards this purchase - perhaps in memory of loved ones. Please contact Scott or any vestry member if you are able to contribute. 610-865-3603 or saec@ptd.net.
Meet Us on Facebook
We are now a part of this social networking site . Facebook allows users to share information and photos with like users. St. Andrew’s will use this tool to interact with our congregation and the general public.
Our Facebook page allows “fans” of the site to receive emails informing them of the various activities going on at the church. If you want to learn more, go to Facebook.com using the link (to your left). Become a fan and find out what Facebook is all about.
Earthquake Assistance

$ 830.00 in donations designated to help the people of Haiti has been contributed by St. Andrew's parishioners and sent to Episcopal Relief and Development. Visit the ERD website at: http://www.er-d.org/ for more information on their relief efforts. Thanks to everyone who contributed.
_____________
Plus: did you know that the money you raised by participating in our annual CROP walks is being put to use in Haiti as well as other areas damaged by earthquakes and other catastrophies?
Church World Service (the parent of the CROP Walks) responds to natural disasters throughout the world with trained volunteers who offer their expertise and pay their own expenses. Donations to this group can be made clicking here.
Both Episcopal Relief and Development and Church World Service have very low administrative costs.
